formula based upon the number of the
immigration population to the United
States over the past 5 year period.
The State Department's National Visa
Center holds the lottery every year
and chooses winners randomly from all
qualified entries. The center chooses
over 90,000 entries to insure that the
maximum 50,000 entries will be selected.
Those winners will be given the opportunity
to apply for permanent residence. They
will also be able to bring your spouse
and any unmarried children under the
age of 21 to the United States. Top
